Sacramental Preparation
Children in Year 4 are invited to join our parish sacramental programme to prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. We work closely with our Parish Priest, Fr. Bruce and the team of catechists in St. Benet’s to accompany our children and their families in this important journey in faith.
The preparation programme begins in the autumn term. Following an enrolment Mass, there are family catechesis sessions using the Archdiocesan ‘With You Always’ programme. Children and their families are also encouraged to attend Sunday Mass to support their faith journey. Children receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent and celebrate their First Holy Communion in May or June.
This sacramental programme is for children who are baptised. If you wish your child to be baptised, please contact Fr. Bruce and he will give you details of the baptismal programme.
Parents are the first educators of their children in faith and we embrace this opportunity to offer support in this important aspect of children’s spiritual development.
